Software Developer

What if your Code is able to change the way millions of people with blindness use technology and access information? That’s what Hable can offer you, all while starting your career as a software developer. Hable is a tech start-up passionate about innovating and bringing the best user experience to people worldwide. Hable is where accessibility and design meet engineering. We focus on building products that will change people's lives.

About Us

Hable (Spanish for  ‘to speak') stands for providing persons with a disability access to technology and information so they can participate in society. Smartphones are integral tools for social experiences, efficiency, and individuality. Currently,  people with a visual impairment have only two main options to operate their phones: Flat-screen interfaces, which are not tactile resulting in many mistakes and a frustrating user experience. Voice-to-text technology leads to many mistakes and is not a private method of communicating, leading to many privacy issues.

With Hable, people who are blind or visually impaired can use an accessible interface while still benefiting from powerful smartphone technology. We do this by building a completely made-in-holland product to support people with blindness worldwide, all whilst putting the Netherlands on the global map of accessibility.

Hable One enables users to type privately, and more importantly, operate their smartphones easily. The Hable One is a universal Bluetooth controller for Smartphones, Tablets, PC’s & AR glasses and uses the entire function of the technology. The engineering challenge at Hable is to make technology easy to use.  The Hable One uses a proprietary mobile application to increase onboarding and learning speed.  Amongst our first users, we have seen a huge increase in confidence and self-efficacy. The Hable One will soon be available in more than 5 countries.

About the role

Hable One is growing rapidly each day and we can’t wait to make the product available in the next 20 countries. To create this social impact, we are looking for teammates who will join us on this amazing journey, all whilst making the world a better place.
