FAQ

Are Stactiles heat-resistant?

Stactiles have been used in high-temperature settings and have remained intact after exposure to around 200°C for an hour. They are suitable for use near stove tops or ovens, although prolonged or direct heat may eventually affect adhesion.

Can Stactiles be safely used on cookware or near ovens?

Stactiles generally tolerate heat well and can be used around kitchen appliances. They do well with stainless steel and glassware.

Can Stactiles go through the dishwasher?

Stactiles™ show good resistance to heat, moisture and detergent, remaining attached through several dishwasher cycles. Adhesion may vary depending on placement, surface texture and washing conditions. Make sure to attach the Stactile to a dry surface and wait 24 hours for the adhesive to dry before putting it in the dishwasher.

Will Stactiles stick on curved or uneven surfaces?

They adhere best to flat or gently curved surfaces. On very smooth plastic surfaces or rounded materials, the edges may begin to lift or peel over time. In the development, we have chosen a rigid PVC substrate for long lasting adherence, the downside is it doesn't bend very well.

How do Stactiles perform in humid environments?

Stactiles generally maintain their shape and adhesion in humid or misty conditions. Extended exposure to moisture may still weaken the adhesive depending on the surface.

What are Stactiles?

Stactiles are high quality tactile stickers designed to help blind and visually impaired individuals identify everyday objects, surfaces and devices through touch. They feature raised symbols that can be easily felt and recognised.

Who can use Stactiles?

They are created for people who are blind or have low vision, as well as for inclusive designers, educators and caregivers who wish to make spaces more accessible.

How do Stactiles work?

Each sticker features a raised tactile pattern representing a specific object or function. They can be placed on items such as kitchen appliances, containers, switches or tools to make them identifiable by touch.

Do Stactiles fade or wear off over time?

They are made from durable materials that resist fading and smudging under everyday use. As with any label, longevity will depend on handling, surface type and environmental conditions.
